Bull Dogs Win 2011 Ottawa Royals Fall Ball

Oct 16, 2011

Ottawa- The Bull Dogs, made up predominantly of Eastend baseball players, posted a 9-6 win over the Hicks, to take the inaugural 2011 Fall Ball season title. Congratulations to Coach Rob Romard and the boys for an exciting seven innings of play.  The Hicks were coached by Bob Guy whose sense of humour always kept things light for his players.

Earlier in the day, the Ottawa Hammerheads (coached by Craig Alain), defeated the Dirt Bags (coached by Derek Guthrie) to finish third place in the consolation match.  All four Fall Ball teams were evenly balanced, with both first round playoff games finishing 6-5.

It was a cold two day playoff round, but the jackets supplied to players came in handy.  In the end, the sun poked through on Sunday and brought an appropriate ending to what was a nice short season.  Best of all, new friends were made, hot dogs were consumed, and the enjoyment of the game was shared for a little bit longer.
