Wayne Gretzky's son commits to playing baseball at SDSU
SAN DIEGO — Hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky's son Trevor on Tuesday committed to play college baseball at San Diego State University, where Baseball Hall of Famer and coach Tony Gwynn will attempt to guide him to the pros. Trevor Gretzky's a senior at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, Calif., where he also played football as the team's quarterback.
Trevor is a first baseman and catcher who hit .341 with two home runs and 33 RBIs last spring at Westlake Village Oaks Christian High, where he also played football. On the diamond, he boasted a slugging percentage of .518 and on-base percentage of .444 as a junior in the competitive Tri-Valley League as a junior.
His father is excited because of his promise as a baseball player. "I live through him quite a bit because my dream was to play baseball," Wayne Gretzky said.
