A simple sport?

Baseball?  How hard can it be?
You throw the ball! You hit the ball! You catch the ball! (Skip from Bull Durham)

While most of us parents grew up playing baseball with hardly any (proper) instruction, there is a lot more to the game.  To learn more, so that you can pass it along to your kids and their friends, District 2+6 is offering a free baseball coaching clinic.

The clinic is called "TEACHING FOR TOMORROW" and is presented by Al Herback.

Al Herback
Al has a great way at making leaning, fun.  It's not a dry, classroom style course.  I'd recommend that all new & experienced coaches attend.  And if you are a parent of a child who is just starting out at T-ball and may be interested in helping out, please take the time to attend.

You do not need to pre-register, however, it's always worthwhile giving your League representatives a heads-up.

There is an early morning clinic for T-ball, followed by an afternoon clinic for Rookie through Majors.

Here are the details ...

Saturday, 30th of April, 2011

9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for T-Ball coaches

1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for Rookie, Minor and Major coaches

Coaches of older players may attend too, but the sessions are geared more towards the younger players.

At the Arch Street Public School in Ottawa South, on Arch Street next to the Canterbury Community Center and the Brian Kilrea Arena.

Bring gloves, as this becomes interactive (and fun!). And bring some cash as you might end up being interested in purchasing additional training materials. Instead of an admission fee, Food bank donations are being accepted.
