Public batting cages?

Where have all the batting cages gone in this city?

I'm shocked that a city the size of Ottawa with all its great sports facilities, doesn't have any dedicated public in-door batting/pitching facilities, let alone outdoor batting cages.

Wouldn't it be great to be able to take your team for a batting or pitching session in a safe and self-contained area. A place where if your tea, pr child wanted to work on their swing, they could get reps in whenever they wanted.

If you are willing to make the 3+ hour drive to Syracuse, NY, try out Perfect Practice. There you can also arrange to get pitching or batting instruction for a reasonable fee. Take a tour of their facility.

Or you can always hop on the 401 and head West towards Toronto. There you'll find the Home Run Baseball Academy Inc. in Ajax, Ontario (inset photo at top). This place is owned and operated by former Major Leaguers Rob & Rich Butler.

Home Run Academy Inc. is a 10,000 sq ft facility complete with 4 large retractable hitting tunnels. These tunnels are equipped with Iron Mike Pitching machines (utilized in the big leagues), pitching mounds, soft toss areas, L screens, batting tees and much more. Pull the tunnels back for 5,000 sq ft of open floor area for infielding and foot work drills. The facility is fully adaptable to individual needs creating variety in practices.
Home Run Baseball Academy's Club House is available for team/group meetings, coaches clinics, birthday parties, after school programs and more. The Club House is equipped with a large white board for presentations and strategies, a large boardroom table which seats 20 and a television with a VCR/DVD player.

If you know of any other facilties, please let me know, and I'll profile them here.
